Under the Children’s Miracle Network fundraising umbrella, the walkathon raised money specifically for Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, which has the nation’s largest pediatric cancer and hematology program. It was held Saturday, Nov. 7, in Woodforest, a 3,000-acre master-planned community in South Montgomery County.
The Elite Choir from Montgomery Intermediate School performed for the crowd before supporters ran and walked the tree-lined streets in Woodforest. Also on hand was Rylee Dean, a local recipient of the Children’s Miracle Network who was treated for a tumor at Texas Children’s Medical Center.

Proof that miracles really can happen, young Rylee Dean, pictured with, from left Leslie Sullivan with RE/MAX Hometown, Norma Dean and Caren Sloane, also with RE/MAX Hometown, made an appearance at RE/MAX Hometown’s recent Walk for A Miracle event, which raised funds for the Children’s Miracle Network. Diagnosed with a dangerous tumor, Rylee and her family sought help from the Children’s Miracle Network and Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. She is now doing fine.
